Adjusting pH Levels to fight Candida
Candida problems are more likely to be faced by people who are even mildly acidic and their pH or potential hydrogen level is lower than 7. The more alkaline the body is, higher the pH level and lesser the risk of Candida. Candida bacteria overgrow when our bodies are acidic and our pH level is not balanced. Therefore, being alkaline can help in many ways along with reducing the Candida yeast in our body.
Oxygen levels in our body can help our body get rid of diseases, and lower pH level can help illnesses and diseases thrive in our body. Our immune system works to keep Candida in check and healthy bacteria to flourish along with fighting various diseases.
Candida infections result if our bodies are not in balance, and the basic reason for this infection is the acidity levels in our bodies which can contribute to adverse health problems like Candida overgrowth. Candida overgrowth can result in health problems like vaginal discharge, oral thrush and penile infections, along with a whole list of other symptoms which may be akin to symptoms for other health issues as well:
Fatigue, anxiety and depression Diarrhea or constipation, problems with digestion Sinusitis issues Food cravings, lower sex drive Acne and other skin related problems
Candida is a problem recognized world wide and the health industry has several people seeking cures for this health issue, since Candida recurs quite often.
What is Candida?
Candida is an infection that can be cured, but it is a recurring issue that only goes away with a change in lifestyle. Candida infection is most likely a result of habits and lifestyle and thus a change in habits is what cures this infection. Candida may also result because of usage of antibiotics or other factors however, chance of recurrence in this case is quite small since these people are less prone to Candida infections. Lower levels of pH on the other hand, make people more prone to yeast infections and other diseases as well.
Are you prone to Candida?
Food and drinks can alter our pH level, and thus foods and drinks that cause alkalinity in our bodies are helpful in altering the pH level. Fewer acidic foods and more alkaline foods can dramatically help in creating a more congruous environment in our bodies for the growth of positive, healthy bacteria and get rid of overgrowth of candida. Flora which have a positive effect in our bodies thrive on alkalinity and replicate faster in a balanced pH level of above 7, thus reducing growth of harmful candida.
Foods and drinks which are acidic in nature should be avoided, and alkaline foods and drinks like high pH water, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds should be included in the diet. Foods like red meat, processed foods, sugar and other related items need to be ideally taken away from the diet.
Our pH level:
pH testing kits are readily available in food stores and markets which can be used to test pH level in our body. Health improves when good dietary habits are adopted which include less sugar and more alkaline foods, as it can help reduce candida growth in our bodies. Alkaline diet and a balance in pH level is not just beneficial for reducing candida growth, but for other health reasons as well.
Drinking Alkaline Water:
Alkaline water can be used for balancing pH levels in the body as it can help provide nutrients to cells and for washing away diseases. Alkaline water is more beneficial as it is at least six times more hydrating than regular water particularly bottled water. Alkaline water can balance acidity in the body and help reduce several medical conditions like Candida over growth. A water ionizer is most convenient and affordable way to obtain electrically charged alkaline ionized water.
