I am almost finished with CandiGone, a 15 day cleanse meant to rid my body of overgrowth of candida. I am also not eating any foods that would contribute to that, such as sugar, mushrooms, yeast, wheat, etc. Should I start taking an acidophilus supplement while I am still on the cleanse, or should I wait until it is over with ... or does it matter? I know acidophilus eats the sugars that are in your body, but literally the only sugars I'm taking in right now are from a once a day Granny Smith apple. I'll try to reintroduce VERY SMALL amounts of natural occuring sugars, like agave nectar. Does anyone have any insight or thoughts? Thanks a lot!
I'm taking this cleanse because I was completely addicted to and craved sugar 24/7. Not as in like chocolate, but that I could chew like 20 gumballs in a row, eat an entire bag of puffy mints, eat two boxes of Nerds/Mike & Ikes, etc. I have recurring yeast infections and other indications of candida overgrowth. This cleanse, coupled with the diet, has helped rid me of this craving and what would surely turn into diabetes at a young age. Trust me, I've also given up many more foods than I listed, such as diet pop (never drank regular), artificial sweeteners, msg, wheat and other gluten products, all dairy ... and I'm already vegetarian so my options are pretty limited!

I've tried all kinds of food-elimination diets, food reduction diets, been on acid-reducers and off, tried all kinds of herbal remedies & cleanses, been treated for intestinal candida, all to no avail whatever. I've had gallbladder ultrasound, barium swallow, both end-oscopies and a stomach-emptying test, which all (except stomach-emptying) show nothing, doctors seem to assume it's not gallbladder-related, yet this gas is incredible. The pain and pressure go on for hours, keep me awake many nights burping, and sometimes wake me up in the middle of the night to burp for hours. Low fat (as in 15 g or less) diet is the only thing that seems to reduce it down to bearable, but I don't weigh much, and am losing more weight. GE doctors seem not to have patience with gas troubles and tell me to live with it. But it is very life-impairing. My only hope is that it is gallbladder dysfunction but with non-classic symptoms. Does anybody have this kind of experience or knowledge about it?
